According to Argentine media, the petite right-back might return to River Plate this winter, as the team lacks a player of his profile. At Ljutice Bogdana, his fate is sealed; he's not registered for either the Serbian Super League or the Champions League.
There's no doubt anymore! Argentine full-back Alex Vigo is officially parting ways with Red Star. The short-term loan for the diminutive defender will expire, and the Serbian champions won't activate the option to buy the player from River Plate for €2,200,000.
Alex Vigo fell out of favor since Barak Bakhar's arrival. Reports from Argentina suggest that Red Star negotiated with the player about terminating the contract early, but no agreement was reached. Thus, Vigo will return to his club in January, with whom he has a contract until the end of 2024.
Meanwhile, River Plate's coach, Martin Demichelis, might consider keeping Vigo in the team, as they are struggling to find a right-back. Alex Vigo joined River in 2021 from Colon for a fee of €1,750,000 but played only 19 matches for the "Monumental" club.
Last year, he was loaned to Independiente, where he made 42 appearances. In Red Star, he played 16 matches last spring and scored three goals. He couldn't convince Barak Bakhar that he belongs in the team. He's not considered for Serbian Super League matches and isn't registered for the Champions League either.
