Yesterday, 19-year-old Leslie Ugochukwu made his Premier League debut for Chelsea, becoming the 37th player from the club to make a league appearance in 2023.
Chelsea managed a draw against Bournemouth in their away game, and after the first five rounds, they sit at a disappointing fourteenth position in the Premier League standings. The main topic of discussion surrounding the London club remains its seemingly reckless and hasty inclusion of countless new players, creating utter chaos within the squad.
The latest to join the fray was 19-year-old French midfielder Leslie Ugochukwu. A staggering statistic from England reveals that in 2023, Chelsea has fielded 37 different players in the English top-flight.
Given this influx of players and the evident lack of hierarchy within the squad, it's not surprising that Chelsea's coach, Mauricio Pochettino, occasionally forgets about a player. A recent example was Malang Sarr, whom Pochettino seemed unaware of when questioned by a journalist.
