FC Barcelona has identified and secured a promising talent from the U17 Mali national team, which recently won a bronze medal at the U17 World Cup.
The Catalan giant has moved swiftly to arrange the transfer of this gifted African player, who will join Camp Nou next year.
Spanish media report that Barcelona has acted quickly to secure the services of 16-year-old Ibrahim Diarra, the current captain of Mali's U17 team. Diarra, who plays for the local club Africa Foot, has made a significant impact at the youth level and will soon make his move to Europe.
Diarra is set to transfer to Barcelona in December of the following year. He has impressed the Catalan club with his performances at the World Cup, contributing five goals and four assists. Diarra is primarily a right winger but can also play more centrally or behind the striker. He will celebrate his 17th birthday in 10 days and will move to La Liga when he turns 18.
The deal for Diarra to join Barcelona was anticipated as early as the middle of last month, and it appears that the agreement is now finalized.
